Integration Course

The Integration course is there for the foreigners to learn the German language in a little reduced price than for the normal people. The Integration course consists of Language course and an Orientation Course.The Language course providers perform the Assessment test before the enrollment which determines the module you should begin with. In the language course, participants will learn about everyday life, including topics as shopping and living, health, job and profession. Furthermore, they will learn how to write letters and e-mails in German, complete forms and apply for a job. After the language course, an orientation course of 60 hours is added in which participants will learn about German culture, history and the legal system.

 

Cost of the Course

 

  • The Integration Course costs € 1,55 per tuition unit. 100 hours, i.e. € 155 must be paid in advance on registration.
  • You can be exempted from contributing to costs if you receive unemployment benefit II or social assistance, or if you find it difficult to pay the contribution because of your low income.
  • If you have attended lessons according to the rules and have used up your full quota of lessons on the integration course but have not attained language level B1 in the language section of the final examination, you can apply to repeat 300 lessons on a one-off basis. You can then also re-sit the language examination once without paying a fee.

6 Important German Words / Expressions

Here are few things you should not say to  Germans. Actually as a foreigner there are few things that you can do wrong  when communicating to Germans.

 

  • Do you like Hitler (Ähm.... magst Du Hitler ? )
  • Hey ! Nazi
  • Where is your Dirndl  ? Don't  you Germans have that  all the time (Wo ist dein Dirndl ? Tragt Ihr Deutschen das nicht die ganzen zeit?)
  • I hate Rammstein. How can you ever say that's music ( Ich hasse Rammstein . Wie kann  man das 'Musik' nennen)
  • I don't like potatoes (Ich mag keine Kartoffel)
  • But it's  just 2 hours late,  that's not bad   (Aber, Ich bin ja bloß zwei Stunden zu spät. Es ist gar nicht so schlimm)

Time in German

There are many ways of stating WHEN something is going to take place - explicit statements and rather vague ones. This applies to English as well as to German. Especially for foreigners it can be very difficult to know what is meant when native speakers use these vague phrases about time.
