Passport for a new born Child
When the parents are Indian and when both have been in Germany for less than 8 years or when they don't have Blue Card, then the newborn will definitely be issued an Indian Passport.
When any one (father / mother ) have been living here for more than 8 years or when anyone has got a bluecard or when any one is a German citizen then obviously the newbron gets the German citizenship.
When you are in an emergency situation to travel to India before the child recieve the passport, you can contact the Indian Embassy and the temporary arrangement will be taken care by the embassy.
There is no dual Citizenship agreement between India and Germany.
Inviting Parents / Relatives to Germany
Anybody can visit Germany with a Tourist Visa but when you would like to invite your family members to Germany, there is a set of documents to be submitted from your side too
- VerpflichtungErkärung ( Formal Obligation Letter )
- Work Contract
- House contract
- Last 3 months bank statement and payslip
VerpflichtungErkärung can be got from the Bürgeramt office. You have to take a waiting ticket with all the required documents like house contract , last 3 months bank statement, SCHUFA document and 3 months payslip. Once the officer has checked the documents within 3 weeks you'll get a call or emailfrom the office to come and collect the letter of obligation.
Please note : Nobody else can collect the VerpflichtungErkärung other than the person applied for it. No power of attorney (vollmacht) is accepted.
