  • The Bodensee-Königssee Cycle Route : This is a challenging bicycle trail featuring breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps and the Alpine foothills. King Ludwig II's fairytale castles and stunning clear lakes soothe the effort of steep hills.
  • The Liebliches Taubertal Radweg : This a delightful 100km tour from Rothenburg northwest to Wertheim. A castle and museum of the Teutonic Knights make stopping off to explore a real treat, and regional trains can take bicycles or baggage should you need a break from pedaling.
  • The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route : This stretches along the Polish-German border is a great family-friendly cycle trail. The old quarter in Görlitz and Prince Pückler’s country park at Bad Muskau are just some of the historic sites you can stop off at on the way to Szczecin Bay.
  • The Regnitz Cycle Route : Cyclists can choose between serene canal or the staggering valley. The trail is traffic free for most of the time, and a great way to see Nuremberg’s old quarter.
  • The Rhine Cycle Trail : Runs for 120km between Bingen and Koblenz through a UNESCO World Heritage region. There are around 40 castles and palaces overlooking the river Rhine, offering plenty to see and do.
